14 July 22: Depending on where you live, it may be time to move or fight!
If you live in a state that is, or is likely to have anti-abortion laws, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_the_United_States, it's time to think about moving to a pro-choice state, particularly if you are a health care professional who may treat pregnant women or if you are a female under age 55 (i.e. not post-menopausal).
Health care personnel in anti-abortion states are in danger of being charged with felonies, see https://www.nbcnews.com/.../indiana-attorney-general-says..., https://www.politico.com/.../potential-abortion-bans-and.... Malpractice lawsuits are scary, but the prospect of felony charges for treating or even advising girls / women may be much worse.
For the girls / women, it is unfortunate that your physicians and other health care personnel may no longer be looking out for your best interest. Some will worry that trying to help you or even save your life may result in a felony charge or other serious problems for themselves, and some may report you to the police for suspected illegal activities.
It's hard to move and typically takes a long time to do so, but I suggest that the above groups start thinking about it ASAP. Of course, you can also fight the laws in your state - it's up to you.
