15 November 2020: Letter to Donald Trump to resign
Dear President Trump,
If I were your lawyer, this would be my advice:
1. Pardon yourself and anyone else you want.
2. Talk about what a great President Mike Pence will be, and stop talking about running for President, at least until January 21, 2021.
3. Tell Mike Pence that you plan to resign and that you hope he will pardon you.
4. Resign.
5. Leave the country for a few years.
Here is the reasoning:
Pardoning yourself may not be legal, but it can’t hurt. It gives you a backup if Mike Pence does not pardon you.
Be nice to Mike Pence because you want him to do you a favor by pardoning you. He wants to run for President in 2024, and if you talk about running, he will be angry with you and less likely to pardon you.
It is important to resign now so that Mike Pence can be President for as long as possible. In his mind, the longer he is President, the easier it will be to win reelection in 2024. The happier he is, the more likely he will be to “return the favor” and pardon you. As you know, you cannot make him pardon you - it is his choice. After he pardons you, then you can say whatever you want.
I suggest you leave the country so the State of New York has more trouble prosecuting you. In a few years, they may lose interest.
There are many countries that will welcome your presence. Resign now and bask in their glory of you.
Very truly yours,
Nat
