24 May 2020: Country of origin
We can build a better world by making more thoughtful decisions on what we buy and what we do. I have chosen, to the extent possible, to reduce purchases of products made in China. As some of you know, this is often quite difficult, but I do what I can.
Recently, I wrote to Amazon:

Greetings,
It would be helpful to me to have the country of origin identified on your website. I refuse to buy products made in China due to its repressive regime (see, for example, https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/global-opinions/china-is-using-the-cover-of-coronavirus-to-escalate-its-repression-in-hong-kong/2020/03/05/943a55aa-5d8d-11ea-b29b-9db42f7803a7_story.html), but this often cannot be determined from your website, which only lists "imported." As a result, I purchase elsewhere.
I understand that sometimes this information is uncertain, but it would be helpful to include what information you know.
Thanks. I would appreciate your response.

The point is not this particular issue, but to use our economic power to influence others on matters that are important to us.
What are your thoughts?
