27 September 2022: The Importance of Voting
In the US, the election season has started.
This article is about the importance of voting, even for those who are disabled, click here.
Voting is so important that all of us should have a plan on how we will vote.
Many of us are fortunate to live in countries where we can participate in free and fair elections to determine our public officials but we should not take this for granted. When we vote, it honors those who have fought and died to give us this right. In many countries throughout the world, people just like us do not have this right. Even in the US there are many people and institutions who do not believe that the person with the most votes should be declared the winner.
We need to vote to determine who best represents us for various local, state and federal officials, as well as judgeships in some states. These decisions may be difficult and frustrating, but they are our responsibility as citizens.
Each community should set a goal of 90% turnout. With absentee ballots more widely available each year, there really is no excuse to not vote. Voting is not only good for society, but it helps you become more successful and perhaps is even good for your health, see https://natpernick.blogspot.com/2022/09/12-september-2022-voting-to-achieve.html
