Another death due to abortion bans

Abortion bans kill pregnant women because physicians treating pregnant women who need abortions are afraid of being prosecuted for murder in anti-abortion states unless it is clear that the abortion procedure is immediately necessary to save the life of the mother. Healthcare providers know that this clarity is rarely present - we know when a situation is dangerous but cannot know the timing with certainty. As a result, physicians wait and pregnant women and girls suffer unnecessary complications, infertility or death.
Per Vice President Harris, “This young mother should be alive, raising her son, and pursuing her dream of attending nursing school,” Harris said in a statement. “Women are bleeding out in parking lots, turned away from emergency rooms, losing their ability to ever have children again. Survivors of rape and incest are being told they cannot make decisions about what happens next to their bodies. And now women are dying. These are the consequences of Donald Trump’s actions.” AP
These unnecessary pregnancy complications and deaths will continue until abortion bans are repealed. Since Republicans almost uniformly vote against abortion rights and Democrats almost uniformly support abortion rights, this will only happen at the national level when Democrats control the US House, Senate and Presidency. On this issue, there is little overlap between the parties.
