According to many economists, inflation today is due primarily to greedflation or price gouging. Corporate CEOs have decided to keep prices high because they can get away with it and amass larger profits, which pleases their shareholders and boosts their own salaries.

What can we do about it, other than complain?
Write your federal elected officials and urge them to fight corporate monopolies.
Help reelect President Joe Biden and Democrats at the Federal and State level. On this issue, there are distinct partisan differences: Democratic elected officials overwhelmingly support an end to monopolization but Republican elected officials oppose using anti-trust laws to prevent corporate consolidations.
Make purchases from small businesses, if possible, to “downsize” the corporate giants.
If prices are too high, make other choices.
