Immigration - it's a complicated issue even if you are honest. But if you are not ...

Immigration is a complicated issue, even if you are honest about all the issues involved. On the one hand, the United States is a nation of immigrants, our population growth would be much less without immigrants, our businesses need more workers today and numerous studies have shown that immigrants are good for the US economy. On the other hand, most people are more comfortable knowing the borders are somewhat secure, although there has always been a substantial amount of illegal immigration.
What is new today is how the Republican Party is constantly lying about this issue and how they are cowering to Donald J. Trump, who wants to use immigration as a political issue to “whip up” his base. Also new is the callous disregard for life shown by Republican Governors Ron DeSantis (Florida) and Gregg Abbott (Texas) by transporting and dumping immigrants into other states and the recent deaths of immigrants in Texas due to its new laws.
