Michigan is my country now

I am thankful I live in Michigan. At least through 1 January 2027, when Michigan’s next governor is sworn in, I know that my Governor will:

• Protect the health of women and girls

• Protect the rights of LGBTQ individuals

• Protect our environment and recognize the dangers of climate change

• Strengthen the middle class

• Make public education better

• Protect our immigrants, even when they support their own deportation

• Try to make government work for all Michigan residents, not just the super wealthy.

I recognize that I have a responsibility to do my part - to participate in government, to hold our government accountable at all levels and to vote for a better world.

Residents of other blue states should also be thankful. For the rest, I suggest you consider moving to Michigan, where our government protects your rights.
