If Palestinians want a viable country, they and their leaders must publicly reject terrorism. This means rejecting Hamas (the current government of Gaza, elected by Palestinians), Hezbollah (the de facto government of Lebanon) and the myriad other Palestinian terrorist groups listed by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (not all listed are Palestinian).
Of course, Palestinians announcing that they reject terrorism does not make the terrorists go away, but it is a start. Then the hard work will begin of dismantling terrorism from Palestinian society in the Middle East - the subject of a future essay.
Until Palestinians publicly reject terrorism and take steps to reduce the terrorist presence in Gaza, there is almost no chance of having a viable country:
Gaza is governed by Hamas, a terrorist organization whose primary mission is to destroy Israel.
Hamas leaders have recently confirmed their mission of destroying Israel - this is not just political rhetoric.
The 7 October 2024 war was started by Hamas, which immediately killed 1200 Israelis and took 250 Israelis hostage.
However, there have been regular terrorist and military incursions by Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups into Israel since the 1920s, see the long lists here and here. The Red Alert app is used by Israelis to provide timely warnings of the frequent rocket attacks on Israel.
Each of these attacks requires a response. No nation would tolerate these attacks without responding to try to stop the attacks.
Hamas is relatively unique in launching its attacks from residential areas, schools, mosques and medical facilities. This means that any response must necessarily target “civilian” institutions and cause a large loss of life.
There is no known mechanism to target terrorists intentionally embedded in civilian life without killing a large number of civilians and severely damaging civilian facilities. Thus, every Palestinian terror attack is done with the knowledge that it will lead to the death of large numbers of Palestinians not involved in the attack.
Palestinian leadership in Gaza and elsewhere views the Palestinian population as disposable human sacrifices or “martyrs” to further their cause of destroying Israel. They deliberately launch attacks in a manner in which the response will necessitate a huge body count.
What business would invest in Gaza while it has a terrorist government or even a strong terrorist presence? There will never be stability because Hamas or the other terrorists will not tolerate stability. They will launch attacks from time to time which will require Israeli retaliation and will destroy any investments. Thus, the investments are almost guaranteed to fail, so who would invest?
In addition, investments in infrastructure require a continuous physical presence to ensure the projects are being constructed correctly. What investor would want to put employees into a known danger zone?
Thus, as long as there is a strong terrorist presence, there will not be any serious investment in improving the lives of Palestinians in Gaza.
The first step to reduce the terrorist presence is for Palestinians and their leaders to publicly reject terrorism. This will likely take some time to occur. Once it does, the Palestinians, their leaders and their partners in creating a viable Palestinian state can determine what next steps to take to reduce the terrorist presence.
Palestinians need to get started today and publicly reject terrorism.

Maybe the Palestinians, whom you continually blame for the genocide being inflicted upon them by the nuclear power that controls every aspect of their lives, are too busy trying to survive - well over 40,000 of them have not - to engage themselves in satisfying your urge that they speak and act as you think they should. Tell the Israelis to change THEIR government, or tell your OWN government stop providing money and guns to those who use those resources in their ongoing effort to murder the Palestinian people. You give new life to the concept of blaming the victim.
