Donald Trump is a lifelong con artist. Half of the country knows this and cannot understand why the other half does not. Trump supporters continue to be gullible, to believe his lies and to willingly be his victims. What do we do about people who are so self-destructive?

At some point in our lives, many of us have succumbed to these types of lies but we stop when the scam becomes evident. For some reason, Trump followers have ignored the repeated publicity over the past 8 years about the myriad Trump scams. Are they afraid to admit their mistakes? Are they brainwashed by right wing media? Are they not paying attention? Is there something about him that they admire so much that they are willing to ignore his lies? Are they afraid Trump will take vengeance against them or be disappointed in them?

Where is the evidence that Trump cares about anybody but himself, his family and others like him? In my life as a business owner, physician, attorney, political activist and nonprofit founder, I have never met anyone who responds to national or world tragedies by ignoring the victims and talking only about themselves. This is who Trump has been all of his life, but this year, he has gotten much worse.
If Trump followers cannot recognize his scams, which have been widely publicized, they will likely suffer from other scammers and liars who are not so obvious.
