I find it useful to subscribe to the following blogs, which give me insight into our complicated world and suggestions on what I can do to make it better. I know that things will not improve on their own and that I should not rely on others to do the hard work of making it better. Thus, I have to improve my knowledge and optimize my behavior. I consider the annual subscriptions (most are $50) an investment in my future and that of my children.
Robert Reich - former Secretary of Labor - writes about economics and democracy. Also produces great videos explaining how things work or don’t.
Letters from an American - Heather Cox Richardson is a historian who gives great insight into how American policies arose and background into what is happening today.
The Dworkin Report - Scott Dworkin is a former reporter who is now an activist who suggests how we can make our democracy stronger and gives tips on functioning better in this difficult political world.
Wolves and Sheep - Chris Bowers is a liberal activist who suggests what we can do to make our society stronger.
Abortion, Every Day - Jessica Valenti describes the myriad of activities regarding abortion and threats to the healthcare of women and girls.
News from the States - A comprehensive daily wrap-up of changes to reproductive rights in the states, the front lines in the fight over abortion access in a post-Roe America.
The Good in Us by Mary L. Trump - This niece of the President-Elect has insight into his troubled personality and suggestions on what we can do.
