In my opinion, President Donald J. Trump is deranged, if not insane.
He is the leading killer of Americans through his COVID lunacy, causing 200,000 unnecessary deaths.
He may be the #1 enemy of the civilized world.
His current actions may be due, in part, to his valid belief that many New Yorkers hate him and have never appreciated his stable genius, leading to his profound anger and need to strike back and exact revenge.
Other nations, institutions and individuals have appealed to his psychological need to be praised and worshipped and have given him gifts and compliments. Why shouldn’t the U.S. do this too?
A ticker tape parade may partially satisfy his need to be appreciated and reduce his most severe policies. Thus, the parade is an unorthodox approach to help solve the problem of Trump.
The parade should be on Fifth Avenue, which Trump likely thinks he deserves and is the location of Trump Tower.
Of course, the parade will likely be accompanied by protests but I doubt that Trump would mind - he currently ignores the massive demonstrations against him.
Perhaps the thought of holding this parade makes you nauseous, but wouldn’t it be worth it if it helps save our democracy?
After the parade, Trump might decide to resign because he only wants to be worshipped (which the parade does), be relieved of any criminal liability and to make tons of money - he has never cared about governing.
Regarding his criminal liability, he might pardon himself and get Vance to agree to pardon him as a backup. His lawyers could easily settle his state or civil litigation if Trump were interested.
Regarding his need to make money, he will soon be 79 years old and may believe he has enough money:
Payments to Trump related entities
Payments from foreign governments
Other deals this year
Of course, it is possible that the parade would exacerbate his dictatorial tendencies, but I agree with Chris Bowers that he has probably “peaked”.

And the merch for the "bystanders" could include barf bags?
This is definitely one of the most creative options I've seen in the non-violent category. My violent, rageful side says turn it into a modern Haman story (see Purim), but I have committed to remaining peaceful today for the HandsOff protest.
Unfortunately, sociopaths don't just peak and then quickly normalize going forward. They are constant and unwavering in their pathology.
