It is clear, at least to me, based on publicly available evidence, that Donald J. Trump is deranged, if not insane. I cannot think of any leader in business or government, now or in the past, who comes close to his erratic, irrational and delusional behavior. The United States cannot move forward until Trump is gone from office. We can expect more chaos and bad news every day until he is gone. If he cannot be removed from office, we need to work hard to limit the damage that he and his Republican Party enablers are doing.
Why is Trump deranged?
He cannot tell the difference between good and evil.
He cannot conform his conduct to the law because, in his mind, he is the law.
He cannot separate his wishes and desires from reality. Thus, he wanted to win the 2016 election so he did. He doesn’t want to deal with COVID or climate change, so he wishes them away - they are not real but hoaxes. He wants to be “king of the world” with the largest crowds, so he has them. No evidence will convince him otherwise.
How did Trump become deranged? We cannot know for sure, but these are some possibilities:
Trump’s father was the patriarch of a “malignantly dysfunctional family” who fostered division and detested weakness.
Trump may feel socially, intellectually and even sexually inadequate. In response, he proclaims that he knows more than the experts, tries to dominate women, bullies anyone he can and tries to be king of the world.
Trump has never sought help for his mental health problems and those close to him apparently have not tried or been successful in getting help for him.
What we should do:
Think about what we, as individuals, can do instead of blaming others.
Be more active politically, as discussed here.
Support small businesses and stop the domination of our society by the wealthy, as discussed here.
Boycott media that supports Trump or regularly is dishonest, such as Fox. To be most effective, this includes their local networks and the sports events that they sponsor.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk will fall when the American people rise up because they can't take it any more. Enough of the state capture by a billionaire for billionaires, enough of the traitor in the White House who attacks America's friends and is a partner of America's enemy, Putin. Here's a song for the times, from a famous musical, in a special version:

Here is an atrocity story from New York, in which the cowardice of Columbia University is as chilling as the mindless cruelty of the Trump tyranny now pressing down on America. "Land of the free and home of the brave" to "land of cowards and home of tyrants." Where is the national outrage?
