Here are three short but important thoughts:
Friday, 28 February 2025 is economic blackout day. To show the mega corporations who really holds power in the United States (i.e., we, the people), The People’s Union and others are organizing an economic boycott.
If possible, please do not make any purchases on Friday. If you must, shop small businesses and use cash (banks control your credit cards). See my essay here.
Protest cuts to the National Institutes of Health. I support The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), which urges you to take immediate action to protect the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and its pivotal role in advancing cancer research, improving patient outcomes, supporting the economy, and ensuring the United States remains the global leader in medical innovation. The Administration’s recent actions—including the abrupt dismissals of dedicated NIH scientists, proposed cuts to vital research institutions and cancer centers and disruptions to NIH’s partnerships with the scientific community—directly threaten progress, delay critical breakthroughs and put lives at risk. For more details, read the AACR’s full statement on the devastating impact of these changes and its Call to Action.
Protect abortion rights in Wisconsin. Elon Musk and other Republican Super PACs are dumping $5 million in dark money into the State Supreme Court race to elect a conservative who will likely overturn abortion rights in Wisconsin. Support the liberal candidate, Susan Crawford, by clicking here.
