DonCatholic hospitals provide chemotherapy to pre-menopausal cancer patients? If so, what would they do if the cancer patient became pregnant during treatment?
I have not seen a Catholic directive on this point and I imagine that issues without clear directives may be approached different by each Catholic hospital. This issue was somewhat discussed at
regarding a first trimester pregnant patient who was found to have a brain tumor and needed chemotherapy and a termination. The Catholic hospital refused the termination and directed the physicians / patient to have it done elsewhere.
