My plans for 2026

My plans for 2026 focus on what I, myself, can do to make the world a better place. This is much more satisfying to me, and ultimately more effective, than trying to tell other people who I don’t know what to do (of course, it is important to contact our elected officials and I feel it worthwhile to tell others what I am doing and suggest that they do something similar). I am listing related essays I have posted.

1. Support pro-democracy efforts. This includes:

   • Protests - there will be more in 2026 - Last thoughts before the No Kings protest on October 18, 2025,

   • Supporting / volunteering / contributing money to support political campaigns for pro-democracy candidates - Why I am supporting more Democratic campaigns in 2026

2. Support small businesses.

   • I try to avoid big banks, nationwide chains, Amazon and other big businesses unless they are fighting back against Trump, such as Costco - How to support small businesses

3. Support independent media.

   • I subscribe to many blogs that are not afraid of challenging Trump - What blogs I follow

4. Focus on my other main areas of interest:

   • Reproductive rights of women - We must all stand up for women’s rights, including their reproductive rights

   • Israel / antisemitism, including Nation Building for Palestine - Is a successful Palestine possible in the near future?

   • Business greed - Capitalism and greed

   • Health and medicine - RFK Jr. - America's Josef Mengele

   • Lawyers - The importance of the rule of law in the United States

5. Writing a new, free, online textbook, How cancer arises

I read all your comments (except hate speech) and try to respond briefly, although I can’t keep up a long conversation.
