Government is hard with many problems that are inherently difficult to solve. We need our political leaders to have many qualities, but intelligence is one of the most important.
Intelligence is “the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.” How do we acquire knowledge and skills?
We read, think and study.
We talk to and listen to people who know more than us.
We focus on honesty and reject lies.
We recognize that there is much we do not know.
We admit when we are wrong and try to correct any mistakes we make.
We try to avoid bias and conflicts of interest.
We get our information from credible sources with the above behaviors.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump rejects these behaviors associated with intelligence and instead:
He gets information from sources that regularly lie or are indifferent to the truth.
He is a prolific liar.
He rarely, if ever, reads, thinks or studies.
He does not listen to those who know more than him because he believes that he knows more than everyone else, including generals, lawyers, doctors and his advisors.
He claims that he knows everything and does not admit that he doesn’t know.
He never admits he is wrong.
Since most Republican candidates and political officials refuse to challenge Trump, they essentially have the same qualities as him.
In the Presidential race and most Federal and State political races, Kamala Harris and the Democrats typically act intelligently and Donald Trump and the Republicans do not, based on these factors.
If we want this country to advance, we must vote for intelligence. That is why I strongly support Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party.
