It is important for people throughout the world to live decent lives and to have political leadership that, for the most part, attempts to bring that about, instead of using political power for their own purposes.
This goal is essential for Palestinians in the Middle East, not only because they have lived in UNRWA refugee camps for 75 years, but because instabilities in this region threaten the future of a world at the tipping point, with stability promoted by Biden and most Western nations but chaos promoted by Trump, Putin, Murdoch, Netanyahu, the leadership of North Korea and Iran and often China.
To improve the lives of the Palestinians we have to be objective and recognize the factor few want to talk about, what I call “The Palestinian sickness”, which I define as the drive by Palestinians to sacrifice their lives and those of others to promote the destruction of Israel. Whether due to brainwashing or otherwise, this societal dysfunction appears unique to Palestinians, who have done the following:
After losing the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, Palestinians have accepted living in UNRWA refugee camps for 75 years in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, becoming “refugees for life”. There is virtually no effort by Palestinians in the region or even by prosperous Palestinians in the West to resettle these Palestinians, other than proposals to destroy Israel. This is due to the Palestinian sickness.
In 2006, when Israel left Gaza in a decision that met heavy internal resistance, Palestinians elected a known terrorist group (Hamas), whose charter called for the destruction of Israel, as their government.
Since that time, there have been no new elections and the Gazan government has turned Gaza into a terrorist military base, involving a large number of its residents in its frequent terrorist activities.
Palestinians have accepted terrorism as the legitimate governmental structure for Gaza with minimal efforts to change it.
In the West, Palestinian “leaders” have done little to improve the day-to-day lives of Palestinians but have been content to spew hatred of Israel.
The Palestinian government has diverted desperately needed aid for its residents into weapons and a massive tunnel network, increasing the poverty of its residents.
Palestinians enroll their children, approximately 100,000 in 2023, in camps run by Hamas and Islamic Jihad that promote terrorist ideology.
Palestinians hide weapons systems and tunnel entrances within residential areas, schools, mosques and hospitals, knowing that this makes these structures legitimate targets for military actions.
Palestinians hide their terrorist leaders throughout Gaza despite knowing of the dangers to these areas in response to terrorist attacks.
Palestinian self-destructive behavior continues today as U.S. Palestinians refuse to meet with Secretary of State Blinken and Vice-President Harris, who are committed to a Palestinian state and to promoting a cease fire, even as U.S. Palestinians refuse to condemn Palestinian terrorist leadership or to demand a release of their hostages.
Worst of all, Palestinians allow their people to be used as human sacrifices (“human shields”) to support the terrorist activities of their leadership to destroy Israel:
In the wake of Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre, Hamas is counting on human shields and the effect of their deaths on international opinion as their best way to restrain, if not halt, Israeli military force. Hamas considers two million Gazan civilians, including children, as martyrs, whether they want to be or not.
“We are called a nation of martyrs,” said another top Hamas official, Ghazi Hamad. “And we are proud to sacrifice martyrs.” He promised more attacks: “There will be a second, a third, a fourth.” When asked whether he sought the annihilation of Israel, Hamad matter-of-factly replied, “Yes, of course.”
This is not simply terrorism, which is the use of illegal violence to achieve political objectives. It is cold-blooded human sacrifice, and on a scale that evokes the ritual slaughters of ancient times. The Hill
This tolerance of human sacrifice and all of the other self-destructive behavior committed by Palestinians, a group that has so many highly educated and successful individuals in the US, is due to the Palestinian sickness.
To create a viable, nonterrorist state, Palestinians must focus their political activities on building better lives for Palestinians in the Middle East and not on sacrificing their lives to destroy Israel.

You see what you call "the Palestinian sickness"; but you seem blind to the far worse, morally loathsome sickness of the Israelis who plan and execute the ongoing genocide. Read what eyewitnesses are saying. Read and listen to this:

You are capable of rational thought in every other sphere, Nat, so maybe it's still not too late for you to pull your head out of the quicksand that is sucking the compassion out of you - the quicksand of the horrific genocide you refuse to condemn. In the last analysis, all you say, over and over again, is "Poor, poor Israel; bad, bad Palestine". Israel has cut itself off from the community of modern nations as surely as Russia is. Once one of the most admired states, Eretz Yisroel is now among the most reviled. This change is Israel's doing. Your rigid, one-sided view of what's happening in the land between the river and the sea amounts to propagandizing for and justifying what Netanyahu is doing, and makes you complicit in the crimes against humanity that are being committed there, and which Netanyahu has pledged to contine committing. What is happening there, and your "Palestine is sick" response, are two sad, sad spectacles.
