What this election is about

It is important for all US citizens to vote and to urge their friends and families to vote. Your life will be markedly different depending on who wins.
From Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor:
Abortion and freedom. Trump and the Trump GOP want government to intrude on the basic and most intimate aspects of peoples’ lives: whether to terminate a pregnancy, how and whether to use contraceptives, the use of IVF, whether to transition to another gender as well as much else we deem necessary to personal freedom. Kamala and the Dems will guard personal freedom.
Voting rights and democracy. Nothing is more central to democracy than the right to vote. Kamala and the Dems will protect and expand voting rights: resurrecting the Voting Rights Act, guarding against voter purges, protecting against proof-of-citizenship requirements, fortifying democracy. Trump and the GOP threaten this and related aspects of democracy.
Making the economy work for all. Inequality has soared. Wages have been flat for over 40 years. Big money has corrupted our politics. Corporate profits are at record levels. CEO pay is more than 300 times the pay of average workers. Kamala and the Dems will make the economy fairer. Trump and his lackeys will make it even less fair.
Trump himself. His bigotry, hatefulness, divisiveness, and moral squalor pose a clear and present danger to America and our capacity for self-government. Trump views the Presidency as a “cash cow and a perch for exacting revenge”. And his attacks on all of the above — abortion and other personal freedoms, voting rights and democracy, economic fairness — should make keeping him out of the White House the core theme for Kamala and the Dems.
